Knitted hot pants? I LOVE you, Marnie.
Marnie MacLean, I love you. Check this out, knitgrrlistas: knitted hot pants. The pattern is due out at the end of this week.
We first met several years ago when she did a pattern for the Knitgrrl books that (sob! sob!) didn’t make it in for lack of space (s’ok, you can still buy it here). She was on my Knitty Gritty episode as a knitster with her dog Panda and a borrowed pup named Lestat… who you might recognize from Heroes on NBC. I have the utmost respect for her aesthetic — her patterns are exquisite. I’ve got Lily, the pattern she recently published on Twist Collective in my to-knit pile!
A pile I will outlive, I suspect. You have no idea.
Thanks for the love, it’s entirely mutual. I know this is going to sound super weird, but having my pattern cut from your book was actually kind of good for me. You were so awesome about it that it’s made me totally OK when it’s happened at other times. It made me realize that sometimes stuff gets cut and it’s no reflection on the designer or the author.
So hey, silver linings all around.
Thanks for the shout out.
This afternoon is turning into Lovefest 5000. I kinda needed that! Thanks, Marnie! xoxo
